KOMPAN’s contribution to this is a brand new series of educational play designs that create a symbiosis of play and learning in supervised areas. These play pieces inspire and motivate play and help care givers support the child’s development through play in compliance with national early years curriculum guidelines.

Encourage life skills learning

There are numerous manipulatives and many little fun details to discover for the children. The details appeal to the children’s curiosity: items can be shifted, turned and opened to discover new play opportunities. The children find ways to cooperate, even before language and geometrical openings allow carers to open children’s eyes to the concept of shapes. Support the understanding of shape, space and measures, an important part of understanding Mathematics but also inspire social play and role play.

The Garden side has a door bell, a flag that can be hoisted up and down, a post box, a string with play sphere, a green see-through peep hole and a pot, which can be removed from its holder. The Home side has an indoor post box, shoes with laces, a switch, a green see-through peep hole, a blue tube to pass items through to the other side, and a mirror.

The Service side holds a measure meter to see if the wheels are okay, a bell to ring for service, a hole to leave your car keys in, if it is to be handed over for service and not least a petrol handle. The Workshop side has a Steering Wheel for testing the car and Gearing Wheels on the side tale.

Playing cooking or selling are two of the most appealing pretend and role play activities. On the wall items can be measured in centimeters or inches. The shop side has a counter, a conveyer belt, a switch, a microphone, a cash opening and a side table with a blue tube for change back.

The construction play is invited in the blue tubes and the see-through tubes. The toddlers pass items of various sizes and materials through. The side tables with moveable pots offer yet another possibility of filling and emptying. The unit invites numerous play activities such as peek-a-boo, supported by the many peek-holes and openings.

Check out our newly installed outdoor playground equipment on Tai Pak Beach! We’re proud and thrilled with the end results!

It consists of two play areas, one suitable for the younger children aged between 2-5 years old, whilst the other area is aimed at 5-12 years old. We’ve also installed seating so the adults can sit back and relax whilst the kids play. Come down to Tai Pak Beach to play and have fun!

Berliner Seilfabrik’s new range Woodville combines the natural character, warm feel and the pleasant scent of wood with the durability, stability and resilience of metal. The appearance of the crooked and random design evokes a feeling of an adventure playground and custom-construction. This character is emphasised by the crooked window and doorframes, slanted roof tiles tilted base and the boards of varying lengths along the walls.

At Parks Supplies we can’t help but feel rather star-struck yet ecstatic to have Beckham visit Hong Kong and play on a pitch we built seven years ago!

On Monday 27th June, the lucky La Salle College C-Grade Football Team had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train with the world class footballer, David Beckham, in a football clinic held on their Kowloon Tong school campus.

Wonder if Beckham is a fan of the non-filled 4G turf on which he effortlessly demonstrated his football skills as much as we are at Parks Supplies. In 2009, the school selected the Greenfields REAL FT multi-purpose soccer turf which we supplied and installed. The boys have been enjoying it for seven years now.

The Sky’s the Limit at Canadian International School of Hong Kong’s Newly Installed Three-Dimensional Playscape

Going back to school isn’t something most kids look forward to but at Canadian International School of Hong Kong, the students were warmly welcomed back with a surprise, a very nice surprise!

Background Information:
Parks Supplies supplied the previous playground located on the 9th floor. The play equipment was generic, restricted the child’s flow of movement, limited their imagination and the various ways they could express themselves freely. It was time to develop the design and to steer away from the generic playground.

Brief for the project:
To create an open space that would be an effective play space for young children to learn through interaction and movement whilst being environmentally friendly, functional and inviting.

“A Great Escape – Story behind the innovative playground at Canadian International School of Hong Kong”– Produced by Canadian International School of Hong Kong

At Parks we were excited to be collaborating with Canadian International School of Hong Kong once again. We decided to design a three-dimensional open space incorporating a variety of components that the young students could interact with in their own individual styles and capabilities.

We chose to introduce a diverse level of difficulties within the three-dimensional landscape and the play equipment, allowing us to support the different age group users. The Sky’s the Limit’s open space and play structures allows the young children to discover their own capabilities freely. It encourages them to develop their social interaction skills, their physical strength and mentally it allows them to experiment and discover which obstacles can be overcome at their own pace and individual approach. It promotes and gives the students opportunities to play in an unrestricted way, boosts their imagination and gives them chance to learn from those around them.

After The Globe, Berliner Seilfabrik now presents the second model of the Joe Brown Collection, which was created as a memento and homage to Joe Brown, the inventor of rope play equipment.

The Cube has the basic shape of a die, which “stands” on edge and impresses through its futuristic design. At the same time, it also draws from two playing classics in its playground design. The rope climbing web offers the kids maximal development options when climbing, by promoting the psychosomatic skills and their three-dimensional spatial sense.

The outer frame of The Cube is made – as is all equipment of the Joe Brown Collection – from wood. As a natural material, wood provides a visual as well as haptic sense of warmth. The frame of The Cube is exclusively made from larch timber which is laminated in layers and in uniform grain direction.

The Cube offers “natural” climbing fun due to its processed materials and simultaneously convinces through it unique futuristic design.

THE GLOBE

The Globe was the first model released as part of the Joe Brown Collection.

Climbing in a three-dimensional net helps children to develop and improve their psychomotor skills. The outer frame of the Joe Brown Collection is made of wood – specifically from glued laminated timber. These timbers are often used in architectural structures like roofs for situations with high load capacity. The material can be bent to a degree that satisfies all needs of the design team. For kids this means: Natural play!
